About Us

SHERDA is a non-political, tax exempt, non-profit, national development organisation dedicated to helping the populace in need of economic empowerment, human capital development, food security and other basic needs through its various programmes and activities.  The Association which was formed by a group of professionals and development workers in 2000 was duly registered as a Non Governmental Organisation by the sole registration organ in Nigeria, that is, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2004 with registration number CAC/IT/NO/17892. Our highest decision making organ is a 5-member Board of Trustees made up of 3 men and 2 women.

In acknowledgement of our excellent performance and high quality of service delivery, SHERDA was given the 2007 / 2008 NGO leadership awards by the SPDC in the areas of GMoU mentoring and economic empowerments projects implementation (that is, at the maiden edition).
